🙂 Mood and relationships

Each settler has a mood from 0 to 100 (an icon by the name, a bar on the card). It doesn’t jump; over half a day to a day it moves toward a “target” made up of how their life is going.

What it’s made of

  • The base is 50.
  • Fed +6; hungry −10, starving −20.
  • Own bed +6, a good (stone) house another +6; no own bed −8.
  • Freezing without firewood −15, sick −8.
  • Varied food (bread and meat) +5, honey in storage +3.
  • Tier needs not met (clothes, furniture, books…) −8.
  • Friends +4 each (up to +12), enemies −6 (down to −12).
  • Impressions for 1–3 days: a repelled raid, a finished chapter, a promotion, returning from an expedition, a new face cheer them up; a quarrel, plunder, a demotion upset them.

What it does

  • 75 and above — inspired: works 10% faster.
  • Below 25 — downcast: 15% slower.
  • Below 15 — may break down: drops work and wanders alone for a few hours; afterwards it gets easier.
  • From chapter 7: below 20 for longer than 2.5 d — leaves the colony (after a day there is a warning in the journal and on the card). Items stay in storage. Nobody leaves from an expedition, during a raid, or from a colony of fewer than five people.
  • To lift everyone’s spirits at once — a seasonal holiday in the 🏠 Council house (book of laws) or the laws “Fair day”, “Common table”.

Relationships

Those who work and live near each other grow closer — each pair has its own compatibility: some become friends fast, others never get along. From 40 — friends, from −40 — enemies. Now and then quarrels happen (more often between incompatible and gloomy ones). Friendships, quarrels and breakdowns are in the journal 💬.
