📜 Settler’s past
Each settler has a past — who they were before the colony. It’s written on the settler’s card, and one job comes easier to them. The past matches the best skills: a “miner’s son” usually digs well too.
| Past | Background | What it gives |
|---|---|---|

| Woodsman from the thicket / Woodsman’s daughter | Grew up in a forest lodge, has held an axe since childhood | “Woodcutting” 10% faster |
| Miner’s son / Miner’s daughter | From a mountain village, knows stone by its sound | “Mining” 10% faster |
| Smith’s apprentice / Weaver’s apprentice | Learned a craft from an old master | “Crafting” 10% faster |
| Former carpenter / Carpenter’s daughter | Built houses on the old island | “Construction” 10% faster |
| Caravan orphan | Grew up in a caravan, carried bales from childhood | “Hauling” 12% faster |
| Former scribe / Scribe’s daughter | Copied old scrolls, reads ancient signs | “Lore” 10% faster |
| Hunter’s son / Hunter’s daughter | Went after game with his father on the northern crags | “Hunting” 12% faster |
Settlers who came to the colony from version 1.41.0 on have a past. Those who lived there earlier don’t — colonies don’t change.
