🪨 Small shards
⚠ Spoiler: this opens in chapter 6.
After the Ancient Generator the islands shifted: now and then a small shard drifts to the colony’s edge — a patch of 30–60 tiles, two to four tiles of void from the shore. It is always small, whatever your island is like.
- What’s on it: high-level ruins, rock with ore and coal (with a mountain in the middle), or a grove.
- How to get there: “Landfill” ⛰ across the void (landfill).
- The first one drifts in a couple of days after the Generator, then once every 12–18 days; up to four on a normal island, more on large and huge ones.
- Each arrival is an earth tremor: those outdoors may get bruised. The 🛡 Alarm bell rings by itself — everyone has time to take cover.
- ✨ Pull Node (chapter 7): shards drift in more often, and there can be two more of them.
