💧 Special places and shard trait
Every new shard has special places and its own trait. Places are shown on the map with icons, and by tapping a tile you can read what the place is good for. The shard’s trait is shown when choosing a new world and in the colony statistics.
Special places
| Place | What it’s good for |
|---|---|
| 💧 Spring | Homes within 6 tiles of the spring: settlers’ mood +4. |
| 🐟 Lake | Fields within 8 tiles of the lake give 15% more harvest. |
| 🕳 Cave | Deep in the mountain is an ancient cache. Break the mountain ⛏ to reach it. |
| 🪨 Boulder field | Rock with stone — near the landing, stone for the first buildings. |
Shard trait
One per world, rolled from the seed — you can see in advance what the shard will be like.
| Trait | What it gives |
|---|---|
| Windy | mills work 20% faster, wind turbines give one and a half times more power |
| Ore-rich | rocks yield 25% more |
| Teeming | more beasts and birds: one and a half times more herds |
| Misty | items are found in ruins more often, and the finds are richer |
| Fertile | fields give 15% more harvest |
Colonies started before places appeared (before version 1.37.0) keep their old map: they have no places and no trait.
