🏘 Neighboring colonies
⚠ Spoiler: this opens in chapter 8.
Once a ⛵ Pier is built, the smoke of neighboring colonies can be seen from it — three settlements on nearby shards, each with its own way of life. They don’t fight: you trade with them and help each other.
- Trade — by a trade route, like with the keepers’ islands. They pay twice the Trading post price, and for what they “need badly right now” — half again as much; the need changes every few days.
- Requests come to the journal every 6–10 days: “send 40 bread”. Done — payment in gold and friendship +10; refused — −3, too late — −5.
- Every airship flight to a neighbor — friendship +2.
- Friendship: strangers (from 0), acquaintances (from 25), friends (from 50), allies (from 75). The stronger the friendship, the more neighbors pay for yours and the cheaper they sell theirs.
- Allies send a gift every 10 days — their own goods.
| Way of life | They buy | They sell |

| Weavers | Wool, Wheat, Bread, Furniture | Cloth, Clothes, Leather, Paper |
| Smiths | Iron ore, Coal, Bread, Honey | Ingots, Tools, Copper, Brick |
